Configuring your new softphone to work with FaktorTel Step 1:

The first thing you will need to do is to have an account with FaktorTel and install X-Lite from www.counterpath.com

Step 2:

Open your now installed softphone by going to your Start Menu, then across to All Programs and then X-Lite. Click on the X-Lite icon in here and you should be presented with your softphone.

Step 3:

Now we need to get into the SIP Setting Menu for your FaktorTel account.
Here is how to do it:
Right click anywhere on the phone interface and select "SIP Account Settings..." from the menu

You will now see the "SIP Accounts" window. Click the 'Add' button, or if there is already an account made,
click the 'Properties' button.

Step 4:

We now need to setup X-Lite to work with your Faktortel Account. On the first page fill out the fields shown below:

Display name: This is your FaktorTel USER ID ( the 09 number that you get with your account ).
User name: This is your FaktorTel USER ID ( the 09 number that you get with your account ).
Password: This is your FaktorTel PASSWORD ( the 8 digit number you received with your FaktorTel USER ID ).
Authorisation user name: This is your FaktorTel USER ID ( the 09 number that you get with your account ).
Domain: sip.faktortel.com.au ( This is the Faktortel VoIP Server Address ).

Next click on the 'Topology' tab to take you to the following page:
Enable the 'Use specified server' option under the 'STUN server' heading, then type into the field: stun1.faktortel.com.au

Now simply click 'Apply' and 'Ok'

Step 5:

Close the Accounts page now if it is still open and you will be taken back to the softphone interface. Wait a few moments for X-Lite to discover the network and then register with our network.

When you see 'Ready' on your screen you are ready to start making calls!

Quick Numbers you can try to dial to see if everything is working.

There are a few quick automated numbers you can dial to check that everything is working.
These are:
Service Time: 123
Echo Test ( Hear your own voice ): 600
Connect to FaktorTel's PBX: 900
Any Australian 1800 Number: 1800 - XXX - XXX

To dial any of these numbers OR to dial any other FaktorTel number simply press the numbers on the phone and then press the GREEN phone button.
